A Starting Point

Since break i have been grappling with the idea of possibly revamping, or even scrapping my initial script. I only have 10-15 minutes of screen-time, and I have a pretty long and arduous plot sequence which requires some character development and maybe even closing remarks. I was asked if it is possible to reshape my narrative so that we start right in the action. The audience could immediately understand precisely what is going on in the video and why it is significant, and follow the progression of my characters from there. it would allow for story telling in terms of showcasing the scenes that involve the experiences of my secondary characters, and it would also take some attention off of Jeff. Jeff is the protagonist, but he is not really the character that offers the learning point for the audience. The real message is in the experiences I am showcasing.
It is a long and hard-fought debate between the two sides of my brain, so if I were to do it, here is a scene that I am considering leading the movie off with. it is scene 22 of 36. it would cut out almost two thirds of what I have written. But I think it may be necessary. This is the point in the script at which things become truly interesting.
