The Writing Phase

So now that I have gotten a pretty good sense of what i want the story to do, i have finally started writing the story. I am about 7 pages into writing the screenplay which will allow me to start shooting this weekend. The hope is to have most of my scenes hot by the end of this weekend. This is the first time that I will come at the problem with a written screenplay, so it should be much easier to create a finished product now that I have goals, and an easy array of tasks to complete to get there. Step one is to finish writing by the end of the day tomorrow. The script does not have to be perfect, just good enough to shoot, and get the basic ideas into it. After that, I will begin shooting this weekend and continue through next week. If I spend some time Friday focused on breaking down the script and finding the most efficient way to shoot all of the scenes, I should be able to acquire the film that I want pretty quickly. I've also been thinking a lot about color palleting, and I want to begin finding prop to set up shooting locations in a way that best fits the moods I want to set. This is something I will have to spend time considering and arranging this weekend. All things considered, I am happy to finally feel good about my writing, and to be moving forward with creating the first rendition of this project.

Page one of the script.

Demetrius, Looks like you have some good momentum and that you're planning to shoot material this weekend. I'm glad the writing process has been so satisfying, and providing you with a framework. Next post, can you include some still or clips from your shoot? Looking forward to seeing what's next. -Stephanie
